Blue Tuesday.

Today I have spent a lot of time contemplating my experiences of the film Blue Valentine.
I haven’t watched it recently. In fact I’ve only watched it once. That says it all. I watched it in the cinema when it was first released here in England and it has haunted me ever since.

A story of love, loss, addiction, realisation, loyalty and despair, Blue Valentine’s blunt display of such a real subject crawled into my mind and has never left. With stunning performances from both Ryan Gosling and the impeccable Michelle Williams, this film encapsulates the truth about romance and relationships in a very sharp nutshell. I don’t want to say much more. It needs to be watched. It’s a shocking look at the disturbance of the human mind when yearning for something that is long gone. I remember feeling incredibly uncomfortable in many scenes due to the bitter sorrow of the scenarios. Please watch this film. It’s accurate and it’s amazing. It will lift you up before dragging you all the way back to a very cold reality.

Thanks for reading and let’s all keep supporting our beloved film industry.
